Day 1: Sapa – Bat Xat – Muong Hum Sunday Market – Y Ty

Morning activities

Starting the tour from your hotel in Sapa Town, our guide and driver will take you to Muong Hum market located in Muong Hum commune, Bat Xat district, Lao Cai province. About 46 kilometers from Sabah town, it is only open on Sundays.

You will have the opportunity to cross the O Quy Ho pass, 10 km from Sapa town. Drive right to Khoang village, then continue to Ta Giang Phinh village. From here you can enjoy a wonderful view of the rice terraces. In the background is Five Finger Mountain (Ngu Chi Son), which gives you amazing views and scenery.

Then you continue on the windy road to Muong Hum market. Now, our guide will take you around the market while telling you about its history and cultural significance.

Muong Hum Market is a small ethnic market on the hill made up of five different tribes: Giay, Hoa Dao, Green H’Mong, Ha Nhi, and Tay. The market is crowded from morning to noon. People from various remote villages come here to trade in agricultural products, handicrafts, etc.

Afternoon and evening activities

Enjoy a local specialty lunch at Muong Hum Market, or head to Y Ty Commune Center after leaving Muong Hum Market for Y Ty.

This is your chance to take beautiful photos around Lu rice fields, Den Sang cardamom forest, and Nhi Cu San mountain between Vietnam and China border. Visit the houses of Hani locals, where you can see the uniqueness of their houses built with mud, bamboo, and wood. Spend more time snapping beautiful pictures of the villages and cloudy skies just in time for stunning landscape photos here from May to September.

Return to the village and have dinner at home. Share with them their life, culture, and work. Overnight in a stilt house.

Day 2: Y Ty – Sapa

Morning activities

Walk around Y Ty village and take more photos of local life and people as well as Y Ty rice terraces. You visit the top of Ngai Thau Thuong to have the best photos of clouds.

There are more opportunities to visit the village for a more authentic life and beautiful scenery. Enjoy lunch at a local eatery in Y Ty Center.

Afternoon activities

You leave Y Ty to return to Sapa town, cross O Quy Ho pass again, and return to Sapa in the late afternoon. You can stop to take good pictures and enjoy the mountain view. Have fun
